The Qing Dynasty was based in the northeast part of China. They defeated the Ming Dynasty, which was located around the area that is now Beijing. The Qing Dynasty Palace is in Shenyang, China. It is an impressive sight to see. These buildings were probably built around 1633, but I am not sure of the exact date. The emperor had a great place to sit, as you can tell from the picture below.

They used dragons in many ways to decorate the palace. I have been told that you can tell if the dragon was designed for royalty by how many toes it had. I have also been told that yellow or gold were the colors most often associated with the Qing Dynasty.

This is the entrance to one of the main buildings of the Qing Dynasty Palace in Shenyang. When a building like this is completely restored, the colors are very bright and show so much contrast. This building is actually a large gazebo at the palace.

The amount of detail used by the builders of these ancient buildings has always amazed me. I also like how they use scenes from nature.

If you are ever near Shenyang, I definitely recommend visiting the Qing Dynasty Palace. Also, it gets very cold there in the winter, so you will want to schedule around that!
